REACH’s Visit to Discovery42 Museum
The REACH group recently enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to the Discovery42 museum in Bodmin. From the moment we arrived, we were eager to explore the interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, which made learning about science both fun and engaging. Everyone had the opportunity to experiment, discover new ideas, and see how science can be applied in everyday life.
A highlight of the day was the automata toy workshop, where we learned how cams and gears work together to create movement. We then used this knowledge to build our own moving toys, which we were proud to take home at the end of the session.
Discovery42 was founded by Roy and Natalia Jones during the Covid-19 pandemic with a vision to create a community-focused centre celebrating science, art, and sustainability. Many of the exhibits have been built using recycled and reclaimed materials, reflecting the centre’s commitment to environmental awareness.
The visit was a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, encourage creativity, and spend time together as a group. We would like to thank the team at Discovery42 for their warm welcome and for providing such an enjoyable and inspiring experience. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
