Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Garden House – Bowden Derra Park, Polyphant, Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 7PU
Salary: £13.00 per hour (weekdays) / £13.25 per hour (weekends)
Hours: 07:15–19:15
Shift Pattern: 2-week rota (7 days per fortnight)
Every other weekend off


About Garden House

Garden House supports adults with learning disabilities, including individuals who may display behaviours that challenge and those living with Lewy body dementia. Our team is committed to providing person-centred care while promoting safety, dignity, wellbeing, and meaningful community access for the people we support.


About the Role

We are currently recruiting reliable and compassionate support workers to join our team.

You will play a key role in providing high-quality, person-centred care, ensuring the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of the people we support. Our residents are supported to access the community regularly, so you must be confident supporting individuals both at home and out in the community, responding appropriately to meet their needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.


Shift Pattern

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support

  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice

  • Support individuals with daily living tasks

  • Safely support residents to access the community

  • Respond appropriately to behaviours that may challenge

  • Maintain accurate records and follow care plans

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals


About You

  • Caring, patient, and compassionate

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Able to work as part of a team

  • Confident supporting individuals in the community

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing

Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
